Address :
There's No Place Like OM; St. James' Circle

Join us as we use an ancient text to inspire us to write our way to the heart of our best selves. We’ll explore the story of the classic Indian text the Bhagavad Gita and use writing exercises inspired by the story’s characters and events to uncover our personal patterns for responding to life’s challenges. We’ll unpack some of these through discussion and consider resetting old defaults and opening to new responses. The workshop will incorporate techniques such as journaling, meditation, pranayama (breath work) and mnemonics that we can use to shift our perspective when emotions come into play. No prior familiarity with the Gita, meditation, yoga or journaling required. This workshop is appropriate for newcomers and old hands alike and will be of use to anyone interested in acquiring new techniques and insights for personal and spiritual growth.

Logistics: We’ll begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and work until 4:00 p.m. with a break for a brown bag lunch at picnic tables on the lawn outdoors. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. (Please note that outside chairs and food are not permitted inside the yoga studio.) There’s No Place Like OM provides yoga blankets and backless folding chairs. Feel free to bring a meditation cushion and water bottle, and of course, bring a journal and some pens!

Cost: $65 for the day.
